Abstract:

The aim of our study is to evaluate the opinions of dental students in Turkey on the use of artificial intelligence in dentistry and oral radiology. Method and Requirements: The study included 236 dentist students aged 19 to 30. Participants responded to the survey that examined the opinions and attitudes of students prepared in the Survey Monkey survey program on the use of artificial intelligence in dental medicine and oral radiology. Identifying statistics and the Kolmogrov-Smirnov test were used for statistical analysis. BULGULAR: 15.25% of students participating in the study (n: 36) 1. Class, 15.68% (n: 37) 2. Class, 19.92 percent (n: 47) 3. The class is 25 percent. Class (n: 59), 24.15 % (n: 57) 5. The class forms students. While 72.88% of participants (n: 172) have knowledge of the fields of artificial intelligence used in daily life, only 23.73% of students (n: 56) have knowledge of its use in radiology. There has been statistically significant differences in the level of knowledge on the fields of use of artificial intelligence in oral radiology between 5th and 4th classes and 1st, 2nd and 3th classes. Approximately 80% of participants believe that artificial intelligence will develop the field of dentistry and oral radiology, but they have not been worried about the future that these applications will replace dentists. A lack of knowledge about the opinions and attitudes of dental doctors and dental students about the practices of artificial intelligence in literature. The vast majority of students support that artificial intelligence should be included in dental education. It has been observed that higher-class students have more knowledge about the fields of use of artificial intelligence in dentistry than lower-class students.
