Abstract:

Sustainable governance indicators are a project that assesses the capacity of countries to respond to current social and political challenges and provides a comprehensive database on government activities. This study aims to identify the positions of the EU member countries and Turkey using the multi-dimensional scale analysis with the data of sustainable governance indicators between 2014-2018. As a result of this analysis, both the classical and modern methods are applied, Turkey, Malta, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Poland are in the "second worst" group, while Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal, Croatia, Greece and GKRY are in the "first worst" group. On the contrary, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands are in the "second best" group, while France, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Estonia are in the "first best" group. In addition, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic and Sweden are ranked in different groups due to the methodology applied in comparison with the results in the modern and classic method.
