Abstract:

The study included a historic review of the famous violinist Maurice Vieux, which has a major role in the historic development of violin play, and the violin competition held on its behalf. In addition to the violin class he created in the Paris Conservatory and the violin works he composed, Vieux, who lived in an active performance life, has been a name aimed at destroying the perception of the violin play with the cement. He has written the study books that have contributed to the technical development of the violin, and has performed studies on the violin parties in the important orchestra works. The Les Amis de l'Alto violin community, which was founded by a group of violinists in France, has also had a vision in the framework of the same goal and have signed a big innovation with the violin competition they hosted on Maurice Vieux. This study included information about Maurice Vieux’s life, the initiatives that contributed to the development of the violin, and a detailed review of the Maurice Vieux competition, which was held within the framework of the objectives of the Les Amis de l’Alto organization. At the same time, other important international violin competitions have been studied, historically ranked and presented.
