In this planned study, the aim is to study and determine the relationships between families with special needs, the skills to recognize their children and the division of roles within the family. For this reason, a relational scan model was used in the study. The sample of the study is made by families of children with special needs who receive individual education in private educational institutions in Ankara. A total of 104 mothers and fathers participated in the study. For the purpose of determining the levels of childhood of the families, the Family Childhood Scale (ROLS) was used to determine the skills of recognizing their children, the Childhood Education Qualification Scale (ROLS) and the Family Assessment Scale (ROLS) to determine the distribution of roles within the family. Imaginary statistics are applied on the data. Correlation analysis has been conducted on the determination of the relationship between the level of family divorce, roles and the ability to recognize the child. Multiple Regression analysis has been used to determine the influence of family role distribution and the ability to recognize the child on family age. According to the findings, the ability of family roles to recognize the child and the family age and the ability to recognize the child are also related to self-evidence and self-control from the lower scales of family age. It has been concluded that the roles in the family are more effective on the family age score than the child's recognition variable. The results of the study can be considered as a pilot and sample study for other studies that will take place with parents with a special-needed child.

This research was aimed to investigate the resilience levels of the families with special needs children, their ability to recognize their children, and their role distribution and to determine the relationship between them. Relational screening model was used. The sample of the study consists of 104 volunteer mothers and fathers whose children receive individual treatment from private educational institutions in Ankara. Family Resilience Scale (FRS), Child Education Efficiency Scale (CEES) 'Child Recognition' subscale and the Family Assessment Device (FAD) subscale 'Roles' were used. Descriptive statistics and correlation analyzes were conducted on the determination of the relationship between family resilience level, roles and child recognition skills. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the effect of family role distributions and child recognition skills on family resilience. According to the results; family roles were related with the ability to recognize the child and family resilience, and the ability to recognize the child was related to self-efficacy and self-control, which were among the family resilience subscales. Family roles are more effective on resilience score than child recognition variable. This results can be addressed as a pilot and a sample study for other studies to be carried out with parents with special needs children.
