Abstract:

Acute patella outbreaks are injuries that make up 2-3% of all knee injuries. Acute lateral patella outbreaks for the first time can be treated conservatively. The aim is to evaluate the conservative treatment method and clinical results applied to these patients. Methods: Patients who were diagnosed with the first traumatic patella laterale output between 2013 and 2016 were evaluated. Patients with clinically positive sensitivity in the medial retinoculum of the joint joint, effusion in the joint and patella scourge test were evaluated. The diagnosis was supported by straight front-back and side knee graphics and magnetic resonance imaging. Patients' visual pain scale assessments were done before and after treatment, while Kujala's functional evaluation was scored only after treatment. Addictive groups were evaluated by the Wilcoxon statistical analysis test. Results: The patient’s tracking period was 13 months (distribution; 7-34 months). There were 12 patients and 12 patients. The VAS scores before treatment of fifteen patients were found at an average of 8.6 points (distribution; 7-10), while after treatment at an average of 1.4 points (distribution; 0-3). The reduction in the VAS score was statistically meaningful (p<0,05). In the latest reviews of patients, the Kujala score was an average of 87.2 (distribution; 80-96) . 5 patients were perfect, 10 patients were good, there were no patients with bad or very bad results. Result: The most important aspect of the study is that the first traumatic patella outcome shows that MPFL fractures occurring from the bones attachment sites can be achieved with a well-functional result by conservative treatment. As a result, we believe that when appropriate choices are made in patients diagnosed with lateral patella output for the first time, conservative therapy can bring a successful result.
