Purpose: Nursing is done with the aim of determining the clinical stress levels that first-class students experience before, in order and after, and the status-continuous anxiety levels and the factors affecting them. Method: The research in the characteristic type was carried out with 94 student nurses who studied in the first class of the University's Faculty of Health Sciences in February-May 2012. The data has been collected through the Indicative Information Form, the "Situation-Continuous Anxiety Reserve" and the "Clinical Stress Survey". The data was evaluated by number-percent distribution, Friedman variance analysis, t-test/Mann-Whitney-U, Varyans/Krusskall Wallis and Pearson/Spearman Correlation analysis findings: Students’ nurses were found to have clinical stress levels at the middle level with condition and continuity concerns before, in order and after the first clinical experience. The experience of students increased and their anxiety and stress decreased (p<0.05). Students’ nurses have been determined to have a statistically meaningful difference between anxiety, anxiety, and stress situations before, in order and after the first clinical experience, according to the circumstances of voluntary selection, love the nursing profession and desire to work as a postgraduate nurses, their feelings about the first clinical application and their thoughts as the cause of these feelings (p<0.05). Results: According to the study, the student’s state anxiety levels rise at the end of the first clinical experience, while the constant anxiety and stress levels decline as the clinical experience increases. In addition, it was found that some sociodemographic characteristics of student nurses with a medium level of anxiety and stress related to the first clinical experience affected the status-continuous anxiety and stress levels. Keywords: anxiety, stress, student nurses, clinical experience, nursing education.
