Günümüzde hızlı gelişme ve değişmeler nedeni ile her şeyde olduğu gibi adayların üniversite, fakülte, bölüm ya da program tercihlerinde de çeşitlilikler oluşmuştur. Bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin üniversite seçiminde etkili olan faktörlerin neler olduğunu belirlemeye çalışmıştır. Adayların üniversite tercihlerinde üniversite, fakülte, bölüm, program, tanıtım, aile, puan veya üniversitenin bulunduğu şehir gibi birçok faktör etkili olabilmektedir. Özellikle yeni kurulan üniversiteler, yerleşmiş ve büyük üniversitelere göre birçok konuda daha dezavantajlı olabilmektedir. Çalışma kapsamında, adayların üniversite tercihinde etkili olan faktörleri ölçmeye yönelik 62 değişkenli bir ölçek oluşturulmuş ve 2016-2017 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılında Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesinde okuyan 1. sınıf öğrencilerinin tamamına anket uygulanmıştır. Anket sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin üniversite tercihlerinde en önemli faktörlerin üniversitedeki eğitim-öğretim kalitesi ve mezunların iş bulma imkânları olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Tercihte en az etkili faktörün ise ailesinin bulunduğu kentte olması olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğrenciler için ilin ekonomik şartlarının uygunluğu ve üniversitenin konumu da oldukça etkili bir faktör olarak belirtilmiştir.
Today, due to rapid development and changes, as in everything, there has been a variety in the university, faculty, department or program preferences of candidates. In this study, he tried to determine what the factors that influenced students in the university choice. In the university preferences of candidates, many factors can be influential, such as the university, faculty, department, program, promotion, family, score or the city where the university is located. Especially newly established universities may be more disadvantaged in many matters than established and large universities. In the framework of the study, a 62 variable scale was created to measure the factors that influence the university choice of candidates and study at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in the 2016-2017 Education-Teaching Year. All of the students were applied. According to the survey, the most important factors in the university preferences of students are the quality of education and teaching at the university and the possibilities for graduates to find jobs. The least influential factor is that it is in the city where the family is. The conformity of the country’s economic conditions for students and the location of the university are also highlighted as a very effective factor.
Nowadays, due to rapid developments and changes, there has been diversities in the university candidates’ university, faculty, department or program preferences as well as in everything else. The effective factors in the university preferences of students were examined in this study. There might be effective many factors such as university, faculty, department, program, advertisement, family, exam scores or the city where the university is located in the candidates' university preferences. Especially, newly-established universities can have many disadvantages comparing to long-established üniversities. Within the scope of the study, a scale with 62 variables was formed to measure the factors that are effective in the preference of candidates and a survey was applied to all first grade students in Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in the 2016-2017 Academic Year. According to the results of the survey, it was found out that the most important factors in the university preferences of the students were the quality of education in the university and the employment opportunities of the graduates. The least effective factor in the students' preferences was the presence of students are in the city where the family is located. The suitability of the economic conditions of the province and the location of the university were also considered as the effective factors for the students.
