Noktalama işaretleri, sözün yazıya en iyi şekilde aktarılabilmesi için kullanılan önemli araçlardan biridir. Türkiye Türkçesinde kullanılan noktalama işaretleri, Türk Dil Kurumu tarafından kurallara bağlanmış ve kurum tarafında hazırlanan yazım kılavuzunda işaretlerin nerede nasıl kullanılacakları bilgisi ayrıntılı olarak verilmiştir. Türkmen Türkçesinde ise durum böyle değildir. 1954’te yapılan Türkmen Edebî Dilinin Noktalama İşaretleri Hakkında TSSC’nin II. Dilbilim Kurultayı’nın karar metni dışında noktalama işaretlerinin bir arada anlatıldığı bağımsız bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu da Türkmen Türkçesi alanındaki önemli bir boşluktur. Bu çalışmayla Türkmen Türkçesi ile yazılmış Sovyetler öncesi ve sonrası yazılı metinler (edebî eserler, bilimsel çalışmalar, ders kitapları, ansiklopediler, gazeteler ve günümüzdeki Türkmence internet sayfaları) taranarak en sık kullanılan noktalama işaretleri ve kullanım yerleri tespit edilmiştir. Belirlenen noktalama kuralları tanık cümlelerle desteklenmiştir. Tespit edilen işaretler ve kullanım yerleri Türkiye Türkçesindeki işaret ve kullanımlarla karşılaştırılmış, benzerlik ve farklılılar belirlenmiştir. Türkmen Türkçesinde nokta-nokat (.), virgül - otur (,), noktalı virgül-nokatlı otur (;), iki nokta -iki nokat (:), üç nokta - köp nokat (…), soru işareti - sorag belgisi (?), ünlem işareti - yüzlenme belgisi (!), kısa çizgi - defis (-), uzun çizgi - käse çızık (–), eğik çizgi - dik eğri çızık (/), tırnak işareti - goşa dırnak (“ ”), ters eğik çizgi (\), yay ayraç - yay ( ( ) ), köşeli ayraç- kvadrat yay ( [ ] ) olmak üzere en yaygın kullanılan 14 tane noktalama işareti tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte Türkiye Türkçesinde sık kullanılan kesme işareti (') ve tek tırnak işareti (‘ ’)’nin Türkmen Türkçesinde hiç kullanılmadığı görülmüştür. Denden İşareti (") ise basılı metinlerde değil, daha çok el yazısı metinlerde kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışma Türkmen Türkçesiyle yazılı metinlerin doğru anlaşılabilmesi ve doğru aktarılabilmesi için önemli bir unsur olan noktalama işaretleri konusuna ışık tutmayı amaçlamıştır.
Pointing signs are one of the important tools used for the best translation of the word into the text. The pointing signs used in Turkish are provided in detail in the written guide prepared by the Turkish Language Authority and the information where the signs will be used. This is not the case in Turkmenistan. The TSSC II on the Pointing Signs of Turkmen Literary Language in 1954. There is no independent study in which pointing signs are described together, except in the decision-making text of the Language Council. This is an important gap in the Turkmen region. This study has scaned the Soviet pre- and post-written texts (editorial works, scientific studies, curricula books, encyclopedias, newspapers and today's Turkmenic web pages) and identified the most commonly used pointing signs and places of use. The defined pointing rules are supported by witness phrases. Identified signs and places of use compared with signs and uses in Turkish, similarities and differences have been determined. Turkey in Turkey (. ), virgül - sit (,), point virgül-noted sit (;), two points - two points (:), three points - spoon point (...), question sign - question certificate (?The sign of celebration - the certificate of swimming (!The short line - defis (-), the long line - handheld strip (-), the curved line - the straight curved strip (/), the nail sign - the neck neck (" "), the reverse curved line (\), the foam separation - foam ( ( ) ), the corner separation - square foam ( [ ] ) have been identified with the most commonly used 14 pointing sign. However, the commonly used cutting sign (') and single nail sign (') in Turkmen Turkish has never been used. The sign of Denden (") is not used in printed texts, but more handwritten texts. This study aims to keep light on the topic of pointing signs, which is an important element for the correct understanding and correct translation of the texts written in Turkmen Turkish.
