NOMOFOBİNİN GÜNLÜK AKILLI TELEFON KULLANIM SÜRESİ VE OKUL BAŞARISI ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: SAĞLIK PERSONELİ ADAYLARI ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract:

Mobil telefon yoksunluğu olarak tanımlanan nomofobi, 21. yüzyılın modern korkularından birisidir. Nomofobi üzerine yapılmış olan birçok çalışmanın öğrenciler ile ilgili olması, konunun gençler üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini işaret etmesi bakımından oldukça önemlidir. Bu olumsuz etkiler, düşük okul başarısı ve akıllı telefonun aşırı kullanımıdır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın temel amacı, nomofobinin günlük akıllı telefon kullanım süresi ve okul başarısı üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını, sağlıkla ilgili bölümlerde okuyan 195 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada Yıldırım ve Correia tarafından geliştirilen ve Yıldırım, Sumuer, Adnan ve Yıldırım tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanmış Nomofobi ölçeği ve demografik bilgi formu vasıtasıyla toplanan veriler, betimsel istatistikler, t testi, ANOVA ve yapısal eşitlik modeli ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; nomofobi ölçeğinden elde edilen ortalama değerin, nomofobi alt boyutlarından elde edilen ortalama değerlerden yüksek çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca; nomofobi alt boyutlarından “Çevrimiçi Olamama” faktörünün okul başarısı değişkeni üzerinde negatif, günlük akıllı telefon kullanım süresi değişkeni üzerinde ise pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Diğer bulgular ise makalede sunulmuştur.

Nomofobia, defined as a lack of mobile phones, is one of the modern fears of the 21st century. The fact that many studies on Nomofobia are related to students is very important in terms of indicating the negative effects of the subject on young people. These adverse effects are low school success and excessive use of the smartphone. The main objective of the study in this context is to study the impact of nomofobia on the daily time of use of the smartphone and school success. The study consists of 195 students studying in health-related departments. In the study, data collected through the Nomofobi scale and demographic information form, developed by Yıldırım and Correia and adapted to Turkish by Yıldırım, Sumuer, Adnan and Yıldırım, were analyzed with visual statistics, t test, ANOVA and structural equality model. According to the results of the analysis, the average value obtained from the nomofobia scale is higher than the average value obtained from the nomofobia subdimensions. In addition, the nomofobia subdimensions have found that the "Online Impossibility" factor has a negative negative effect on the school success variable, while the daily smartphone use time variable has a positive significant effect. The other findings are presented in the article.

Nomofobi (No Mobile Phobia) described as a suffer from lack of mobile phone, is one of the modern fears of the 21st century. Most of the work done on the nomenophobia is related to the students because the group suffered the most from the nomophobia. Some of negative effects can low school success and overuse of the smartphone. The main aim of study in this context is to examine the effect of nomophobia on duration of daily smartphone usage and school success. Participants of the study consist of 195 students studying in health related departments. The Nomophobia Scale developed by Yildirim & Correia, and adopted to Turkish by Yildirim, Sumuer, Adnan and Yildirim was used in this study. In order to analyze the data were used to T-test, ANOVA and Structural Equation Model. According to the analysis results; the mean value obtained from the nomophobia scale was higher than the mean values obtained from the nomophobia subscales. Our findings show that "can not be online" subdimension is predict as negatively to school success; but it predict as positively to duration of daily smartphone usage. Other findings were presented in the article.
