Abstract:

Throughout the history bees are accepted as a divine symbol for they product honey. Bee hives and their ways of workings are described as a miracle of God. Bee symbolizes immortality, fertility, and productivity. Honey bee becomes inspirational symbol for poets. Bee and honey are mentioned in three Holy Scriptures. (Torah, Bible, and Quran) Each of three scripture includes some expressions about bee and honey. Bee symbol is seen as soldier of God on Islam and also to see them in your dreams mean equivalent to reading Quran. Because of the mysterious productivity bee is equivalent to Ali on Shia beliefs. On the other hand; according to Christian belief bee symbolizes Virgin Mary with the aspect of productivity and fertility. Bee is a symbol of hard work and effort at Divan literature and Mevleviyah. Therefore; generally bee encounter as a dervish in the way of God. Sheikh Galib is one of the famous poets of Divan literature. We see that Galib’s loyalty to Mevleviyah and his being a “postnişin” of Galata Mevleviyah reflect on his poems. For this reason sometimes bee symbolizes abundance and sometimes it is resembled with the Whirling Dervish who makes semah at lodge used by Mevlevi Dervishes with the aspect of buzz and flying in the circle. On the other hand; sound of bee represents instruments used at the Mevlevi Rituals Ceremony. Moreover it can be said that Nahl Surah which is included miracles of God plays an important role encountering of bee on Sheikh Galib’s poem. Miracles of God are mentioned on Nahl Surah which is included miracles of God.
