Abstract:

It is necessary to reveal the language reflection of the direction identification tracks used in different cultures today, where the orientation systems are rapidly spreading. In this context, 232 different persons were asked for addresses in natural environments and the direction definitions were recorded. The obtained data has been studied in terms of the use of observations such as environmental elements, limiters, comments, offer and target direction. It is also discussed the interaction of action and situation reports with the observations used by those who define the direction. In the framework of the created collection, the most direction-defining objects-centered limiters in Turkish have been used and there is a close relationship between the type of the whole and the preferred observations. It has also been shown that the gender is not a significant variable in terms of observation and gender type. The results of this study are hoped to contribute to the choice of language and monitoring for both the orientation systems, as well as the prepared resources for the teaching of Turkish.
