This paper aims to investigate the evolution of psychological contract studies worldwide in the field of management since 1980. This study analyzes how the psychological contract studies in the management literature has changed and evolved using bibliometric analysis method and interprets the empirical evidence. Bibliometric analysis involves the country, the author(s), collaboration among authors, citations, references, institutions, and the publication date of the scholarly research. The study shows how many articles were published concerning psychological contract in the field of management in the Scopus database between 1980 and 2015 and also sorts out the distribution in terms of subject area based on keywords. Thus, potential factors that may have an impact on the subject differentiation for the evolution of psychological contract studies were introduced. The empirical results reveal a significant increase on psychological contract studies in 1995 and also a periodical increase on the number of publications after that year. Results also show that only seven studies (0.50%) were published in Turkey from 794 psychological contract studies worldwide. A thematic change was also observed especially for the 2001-2015 period when a bibliographic mapping was performed by a classification of different periods. This thematic change was appeared by the raise and/or decline of some studies
