Sınıf Öğretmeni Adaylarının Öğretmenlik Mesleği Tutumları ile Kendine Saygıları Arasındaki İlişkisi

Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the attitutes of classroom teachers towards teacher proffesion and their self-esteem. The sample of this study included 198 classroom teachers of 3rd and 4th graders of Education Department of Fırat University in the 2013-2014 academic year. Teaching Proffession Attitude Scale developed by Çetin (2006) was used to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates toward teaching profession. Self-esteem Scale developed by Bogenç (2005) was used to determine the self-esteem of teacher candidates. In the data analysis, structural equation modeling and computer-aided data analysis program was used. Based on the results of the study, χ² / sd value of 2.01, RMSEA of 0.072, CFI 0.93, RMR value of 0.070 and SRMR 0.080 and NNF 0.93 value were obtained from the fit statistics between Teaching Profession Attitude Scale and Self-Esteem scale. These values can be expressed as corresponding to good fit. The fit statistics between the subscale of teaching profession attitudes of love, value and self-esteem scale can be said to correspond to good fit. The same research may be conducted on students from different departments for comparison of results with the current research.
