Abstract:

Uluslararası ilişkilerin iki kutuplu yapıda seyrettiği Soğuk Savaş döneminde Türkiye'deki iç politikanın da paralel bir konumda olduğu görülmekteydi. Soğuk savaş dönemindeki kutuplardan ABD tarafında yer almayı tercih eden Türkiye'de yaşanan bazı sorunlarda, bulunduğu tarafın zaman zaman desteğini aldığını zaman zaman ise tepkisini çektiğini ifade etmek isteyen çalışmada, Türk demokrasisine müdahale gibi görünen darbelerin uluslararası boyutları ve etkilerine yer verilecektir. Özellikle ülke liderlerinin tavırları ve ülke politikalarının Sovyet yanlısı olma durumunda tepki gösteren ABD'nin Türkiye iç politikasında ve demokratikleşme süreçlerindeki etkileri oldukça önem taşımaktadır. S. Hungtington'un demokratikleşme dalgaları ve ters demokrasi hareketlerinin de göz önünde bulundurulacağı çalışmada, Türkiye'deki ters demokrasi dalgaları olarak nitelenen darbeler ve uluslararası politikadan nasıl etkilendikleri üzerinde durulacaktır. The article aim to express that Turkey, who preferred to take sides with the USA during the Cold War period, was supported by the USA as well as gotten reaction in some of the problems experienced. In this framework, it will be assessed the effects of coups and international dimensions of the Turkish democracy. The paper also addresses the effects of the USA on domestic policy and democratization process in Turkey especially at the times of pro-Soviet policies followed and pro-Soviet leaders were on duty.. S. Hungtington's waves of democratization and opposite of democracy movements will be considered in the article and mentioned on military coups which are described as the opposite of democracy waves in Turkey and how they were impressed within international policy.
