Abstract:

Environment problems which pick speed with industrial revolution increasingly go on nowadays. Governments have begun to seek public and market-oriented solutions and policies in order to reduce environmental problems. Imposing taxes on pollution is one of the main public solutions that have been applied in the past. This study has been carried out in order to measure the students’ attitudes towards environment taxes. The questionnaire is implemented to 558 students which are selected according to random sample method from the public finance department students in Dumlupınar University. Moreover the study also investigated attitudes towards environment taxes show important differences on demographic features of students. In this study, it is come through that university students take a bright view of the idea that taxes are used to prevent environmental pollution
