Bu çalışmada, günümüzde son zamanlarda yaşanılan sıkıntılar ve olaylar nedeniyle özü sözü bir, dürüst ve etik değerlere sahip liderlere ihtiyaç duyulması sonucunda liderliğe yeni bir boyut getiren etik liderliğin; iş yaşamındaki duyguların denetimini ifade eden duygusal emek ile ilişkisi konu alınmıştır. Çalışmanın genel çerçevesini oluşturan bu kavramlar açıklandıktan sonra Kafkas Üniversitesi idari personeliyle bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre çalışanların etik liderlik algılarının yüksek düzeyde, duygusal emek algılarının ise orta düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür.
