Abstract:

Every person must make financial decisions to live his life. From a simple kitchen shopping to the purchase of real estate, from retirement planning to investment decisions, we need to make financial choices in every stage of our life. An individual who is a financial reader will make more efficient decisions on these matters and will contribute to the country’s economy by managing its budget more properly. The rapidly changing market conditions in the 21st century, the increased conditions that require individuals to make financial decisions, and the changes in the demographic structure of society, highlight the importance of the subject of financial literature. As a result of increasing financial instruments and practices in many different areas, from investment to savings, from conscious consumption to credit card use, it has become compulsory for individuals to be financial readers to make healthy financial decisions. The purpose of the study in the scan model is to measure the level of financial literacy of university students and to study the relationship of these characteristics with demographic variables. Students who study the university of research in the faculties of economic and administrative sciences of the universities are the sample of 300 students who are studying at Hacettepe University and Bilecik Sheikh Edebali University. In the survey, 45% of students have an average knowledge of financial literature, 38%. The 6th result was achieved in financial matters.
