The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the design of food and beverage establishments on consumer preferences. The sample of the study consists of 385 consumers who visit different food and beverage establishments in Muğla province of Turkey. Absolute and percent value, mean, standard deviation, student t-test, one way anova and tukey tests are used for analyzing the data. It is concluded from the study that the design factors that consumers consider the most important are arrangement and hygiene of toilettes, lightening, design of the kitchen which can be seen partially/completely by consumers, having a car park or not respectively. Moreover, it is determined that women consider the decoration of food and beverage establishments more important than men. Another result of this study is that consumers between the ages of 18 and 24 consider the colour of walls and the lightening more important than the consumers who are 45 and above. It is also determined that married consumers consider having a playground for children less important than single consumers.
