Abstract:

Both Tarık Buğra’s Küçük Ağa and Samim Kocagöz’s Kalpaklılar novels, firstly show common features in terms of their issues. Because the subjects of both novels are, the emergence of Kuvva-yı Milliye spirit and the developing of the spirit of the national struggle which began with the War of Independence.Both authors, look the development of the spirit of the national struggle, from the windows of their own home towns. Tarık Buğra tells the national struggle from his own hometown Akşehir region, and Samim Kocagöz tells the national struggle from his own hometown Izmir region, with combining the other struggles in other fronts in the Independence War.While our review which compares these novels , we have followed that plan: Firstly, the summaries of the novels were given. Then the thoughts of the both authors about their own novels were transfered and with this way it is studied to make the examine deeply. Finally, the common features of both novels, were evaluated in details. With this work, we hope to be helpful on some of these studies: The liberation struggle in Turkish literature, the emergence of the liberation struggle in Turkish literature on the novel characters, and the role of Turkish women during the liberation struggle
