Economic convergence between developed and developing countries depends on the economic growth performance of the latter. It is important to prevent corruption in developing countries because corruption undermines the economic growth and the social structure of these countries. Since the corruption has detrimental effects on economic growth, combating corruption is needed on the basis of continous and conscious strategies. In this study, some developing country experiences are compared with the Turkish experience in terms of the corruption strategies and it is concluded that Turkey has a lot to do in curbing corruption.
