So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract enWith the Ottoman Empire becoming a piece of European capitalism, the Ottoman cities became to modernize, starting from the second half of the 19th century, and urban transformation displayed itself mostly in port cities. However, the transformation experienced, has also caused the mechanism, which were transmitting surplus value to Europe through the ship, railroad and port city, to find a place in the Ottoman economic and social structure. One of those port cities, which gained a new appearance architecturally and a new function economically and politically, was Bartın. Bartın, which was not yet introduced to urban development during the early 1830’s, experienced a tangible urban development starting from the second half of the 19th century, leading to its population to grow, and the economic activities in the city to gain dynamism. The study shows, Bartın, just like other port cities, had gained a new face and function, while the transformation experienced was relatively slow
