Abstract en– The aim of this study was to obtain the opinions of the secondary school students towards science concept who attended the “Learning By Doing Summer Science School” project under TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature and Science School programme in Mersin. Data were collected from 160 girl students in schools at 6-7-8. grades by a personal information form and a questionnaire. Qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis and quantitative data were given by frequencies and percentages. As a result of this study, the students mentioned science as a knowledge source in which they tried to acquire by joy and pleasure, inventions, technology and the processes facilitating the life. Finally, it can be taught that these kind of projects may enhance a positive contribution to the opinions of the students towards science and scientific knowledge, active and learning by doing processes promote this situation, the scientific activities may help students to decide what they would like to do in the name of science in future and they acquired scientific knowledge by joy.
