Abstract:

The investigation was carried out to determine the level of consistency between personal values and organizational values of teachers in public elementary schools. Study group of this investigation was composed of 160 teachers, working in the center of the province of Sanliurfa I. step primary school in 2011-2012 academic year, was selected by using simple random sampling. Concerning to the minor purpose of this investigation, the similarity between personal values of teachers and organizational values of schools was analyzed by using Pearson Product-Moment Correlation test. In the determination of the level of compliance between persoal values of teachers and organizational values of schools, for each value expressions, arithmetic mean scores of the organizational values scale for all participants was subtracted from arithmetic mean scores of the personal values scale for all participants to decide the level of compliance. T-test and one way variance analyses (ANOVA) tests were used to investigate whether teachers' perception differentiate according to gender, duration of working in his/her school, type of graduated school and the number of teachers in his/her school or not. According to survey results, there is positive and significant relation in middle level between teachers' perception scores about personal value and organizational value. The values, when the compliance level of personal and organizational values in public primary schools were the highest level, respectively, "formality", "respect to seniority," "to be result-oriented", "obedience" and "success" has been. The lowest values were "justice", "empathy", "transparency", "confidence" and "honesty", respectively.
