So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Sosyal ağlar, arkadaşlık ilişkilerinin vazgeçilmez bir parçası olmuştur. Özellikle gençler yeni arkadaşlıklar kurmak ve iletişim kanallarını genişletmek amacıyla sosyal ağları yoğun bir şekilde kullanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bireylerin genel Facebook kullanım alışkanlıklarının yanısıra sosyal ağlardaki arkadaşlıkların başlamasını ve sonlandırılmasını etkileyen faktörleri ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda web tabanlı anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, kullanıcıların büyük çoğunluğu Facebook’ta kardeşleri ile arkadaşlık kurmasına rağmen, ebeveynleri ile arkadaş olan kullanıcıların azınlıkta olduğuna ulaşılmıştır. Bunun yanısıra, ebeveynleri ile arkadaş olmak, kullanıcıların paylaşımlarını daha dikkatli yapmasına sebep olduğu görülmüştür.  Katılımcıların neredeyse tamamı ırkçı ve cinsiyetçi paylaşımlar yapmama konusunda hemfikirdir. Arkadaşlıktan çıkarma kararını etkileyen paylaşım türleri ise sırasıyla; ilgisiz, sık yapılan ve politik olan paylaşımlardır.  Katılımcıların cinsiyetleri, sınıf ve gelir düzeyleri ile tanımadıkları kişilerden gelen arkadaşlık isteğini kabul etme davranışları arasında bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. Bu araştırma ilgili yazının genişletilmesi konusunda katkı sağlamaktadır. Araştırmanın imaları, sonuç ve öneriler kısmında tartışılmıştır.

Social networks have become an indispensable part of friendship relations. Especially young people use social networks intensively to establish new friendships and to expand their communication channels. The aim of this study is to determine the factors that affect the initiation and termination of friendship in social networks as well as the general Facebook usage habits of individuals. For this purpose, a web-based questionnaire was applied. At the end of the research, although the majority of the users were friends with their brothers on Facebook, it was found that the users who were friends with their parents were in the minority. Besides, it has been seen that making friends with their parents makes their sharing more careful. Almost all of the participants agree that they do not make racist and sexist shares. The sharing types that affect the decision to unfriending, respectively; irrelevant, frequent and political sharing. There was no relationship between the gender, class and income levels of the participants and their acceptance of friendship request from people they did not know. This research contributes to the extension of the relevant literature. Implications of the research, were discussed in the section conclusions and recommendations
