19. yüzyılda Osmanlı imparatorluğunda iki çok önemli tıp cemiyeti kurulmuştur. Birisi Kırım savaşı nedeniyle İstanbul'a gelen yabancı hekimlerin diğeri de on yıl kadar sonra Türk hekimlerin kurduğu bu iki farklı cemiyet özellikle tıp eğitim dilinin Türkçeleştirilmesi kapsamında kıyasıya bir mücadeleye girişmişlerdir. Günümüze kadar varlıklarını korumayı başaran bu iki önemli tıp cemiyetinin tarihi süreçleri içerisindeki faaliyetleri, ülkemize etkileri ve özellikle tıp eğitim dilimiz üzerinden yürütülen mücadeleleri bu makalenin eksenini oluşturacaktır.
In the 19th century, two very important medical communities were established in the Ottoman Empire. One of the foreign doctors who came to Istanbul due to the Crimean war and the other about a decade later the two different communities that the Turkish doctors founded, especially in the context of the Turkishization of the language of medical education, entered into a struggle. The activities within the historical processes of these two important medical communities that have managed to preserve their assets until today, the effects on our country and the struggles carried out through our language of medical education will be the axis of this article.
