Abstract:

At the center of modernity criticism, a comprehensive analysis of the production and continuity mechanisms of power is carried out. These studies, focused around the concept of identity, draw attention to the processes of ‘representation’ of ‘I’s’ in the framework of a conceptual speech with categories such as nationalism, religion, economic class, social gender (Sayak, 2019: 362). As an identity building, the social gender phenomenon, in parallel with the Western academic law, has been addressed in Turkey for many years in the 'woman' specialty (Nagel, 2013: 67-68). Under the guidance of feminist theories, the content and representation of femininity determined in accordance with the desires of the eril stalk, has been the main axis of the questions. Specifically after the 2000s, male research that has led to a focus change by appearing within women's studies is also rising as a field of incentive and importance in Turkish literature (Günay-Erkol, 2018: 6-32; Gunçu, 2018: 289-334). Men’s studies (Horzum, 2018: 75-101), which enable multi-dimensional reading with interdisciplinary approaches, also see an increasing interest in literary criticism. Murat Gür's Turkish novel Man and Nationalism (1908-1923) has taken its place in the works produced with this interest.
