Abstract:

Institution of family starts with the human existence. Thus, according to Turkish constitution, family is regarded as the foundation of society. People are getting married for establishing a happy home life and to carry their family name forward. But sometimes the marriage has its own difficulties and resulted with a divorce. Actually it is beneficial to the society that both the spouses and their children are happy in home life. As a smallest unit of the society, the more family gets happy and peaceful the more society will be happy and peaceful. Public authority takes some measures to protect couples and children both in marriage life and afterwards. In this paper, we are going to explain the duties of couples to each other and to their children as it may be called as “care maintenance”
