The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of gender on the relationship between leader-member exchange and intention to quit. This study included 203 employees, who were administered a structured instrument, across organizations in tourism, food and transportation sectors in Muğla. The analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between leader-member exchange and intention to quit. Moreover, gender and leader-member exchange explained a meaningful portion of intention to quit. The results of the present study indicated that gender moderated the relationship between leader-member exchange and intention to quit and this relationship was stronger for females than males. As a result, a need is emphasized to consider both gender and leader-member exchange to better understand intention to quit across organizations
