Teachers’ Opinions on the Usability of Interactive Board Software Antropi Teach

Studies on the use of technology in education in Turkey is continuously increasing. One of the most important of these studies is the Fatih Project, which is organized by the Ministry of National Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport. At the end of 2015 - 2016 academic year, all secondary school classrooms were scheduled to take place the interactive whiteboard installation. Within the scope of the project, it was planned that all teachers were instructed with the various in-service trainings in which the teachers can learn how to use the equipment of the project and the software included Antropi Teach, in the most effective manner. The purpose of this study was to determine the usability of the Antropi Teach interactive whiteboard software in education. The data were collected during 2014-2015 academic year from 280 teachers who work in state schools and successfully completed "Fatih Project - Use of Technology in Education” workshop. Twenty-two item survey was used to collect data, including 2 open-ended questions. The result shows that there is positive opinion of Antropi Teach software. The majority of participants stated the software was easy to use and they will frequently use Antropi Teach software. Participants’ opinions of Antropi Teach software do not differ based on gender, age, education level and the type of received in-service teacher training. However, according to the branch of the teacher there is a significant difference. One of the difficulties encountered by participations during the use of the Antropi Teach software was to import swf file, and the software is not supported by all operating systems. In addition, the majority of participants have agreed that software-related in-service training was sufficient. According to the data, some recommendations were given.
