Abstract:

Since the establishment of the People's Republic of China's foreign policy has been shaped according to historical, cultural, geopolitical and ideological conditions, but has also undergone some changes in accordance with the formats of the Cold War period. The radical foreign policy transformation began to appear simultaneously with the new economic approach adopted by Deng Xioping in the 1980s, and this political attitude made it possible for China to open to the world. Since this period, the Czech Republic has focused on economic development and development, but it has also aimed at building good relations with neighbors and close surroundings, creating regional cooperation and dialogue groundwork in the framework of the "peaceful development" approach. The CCC considers the potential contribution of the security and stability environment to economic and commercial relations by such a approach. In this context, a state in its peripheral Afghanistan is experiencing a special relationship process. While the interest of China’s foreign policy in Afghanistan has passed periodic changes, the Soviet military intervention, which began in 1979, has increased the importance of the country’s foreign policy in the Czech Republic. Today, with the uncertain and unstable environment in Afghanistan, the unwanted effects of this situation are highlighted on the agenda of the Beijing government. In the context of the neoclassical realistic paradigms, the CPC is considering the threats arising from Afghanistan and attempting to eliminate them using semi-liberal approaches that can put them on a regional scale. However, the form of relations between the Czech Republic and Afghanistan provides a depth that is unlimited to merely neighbourhood relations. Zira has been pushing China as a host of western actors since 2001 to the threat perceptions that the circumference of the Cold War has strengthened. This study examined the historic transformation of the Czech Republic’s foreign policy and its relations with Afghanistan. In this context, the importance of Afghanistan, a multi-dimensional crisis area in the world over the past four decades, has been assessed by China.
