Marinas have an important economic role both in contrubuting to tourism revenues and in development of the region where they exist. While Marinas in Turkey provide attractive facilities for potential customers in Mediterranean basin, they are also in competition with other local ones at the same shore and the marinas belonging to other countries. In this competition marinas need some strategic movements to stand out among their rivals and gain strategic advantages in the long term. Variety of services and the quality are competitive tools of marinas. Marina managements should consider to provide cost advantage and not to loose core activities while using these tools. On this purpose marina managements should make a decision about which services to produce inside and which ones to transfer out. Those decisions are of strategic importance for the future of businesses called as make or buy decisions in the literature. This study is aimed to reveal the make or buy decision process with its strategic inportance and to demonstrate how to use indifference point and lineer programming techniques on these decisions.
