Abstract:

PR: The teacher candidates, who are the teachers of the future, are important to know the field of teaching profession as well as to love the children, to establish a strong connection with them. The ability of teachers to fulfill their professions’ duties and responsibilities, as well as carrying their professional qualifications, is closely related to the love of their professions. The purpose of this study is to study the status of children's social information teachers' candidates in terms of different variables. The research work group consists of 187 teachers candidates studying in the Social Information Teaching Department, which is studying at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Education Faculty in the 2017-2018 educational-educational year. The study used the scale that Barnett and Sinisi developed as a data collection tool to determine their attitudes towards children. The scale is adjusted to Turkey by Duyan and Gelbal. The reliability of the Cronbach Alpha measurement is 0.85.  After the implementation of data collection tools, the obtained data was subjected to statistical processing in the computer environment using the SPSS 18 package program; in this context, the data was carried out with visual statistics, Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis analysis. The research found a meaningful relationship between love of social information teaching and child love.
