Abstract:

The Metropolitan Municipality Law No. 6360 makes significant changes in the Turkish public administration. First of all, in the towns where the majority of the municipalities are located, the province’s private administrations and the legal personality of the villages are removed. The city’s ownership limits are the same as the city’s ownership limits. Thus, the great ones are converted to the great ones. The role of the governor, the representative of the central administration, becomes controversial. In this study, the possible effects of Law No. 6360 are assessed in the Sanlıurfa special. In the first part of the study, which consists of two sections, the Law No. 6360 is discussed. In the second section, the possible consequences that the Law No. 6360 will lead to in Sanlıurfa are examined in three titles. These headlines are: administrative and financial results, political results, social and cultural results.When considered the Law No. 6360, the excess of the village number, the size of the urban area, the retardation in the social and economic area make the situation of Sanlıurfa difficult;the new financial resources and investment opportunities that the city will bring to the city will increase the hopes of the city people.
