Representation issue of art has always been current and has been within the most discussed topics today as well. Along with the history of art, all qualitative and quantitative representation set ups have been changed depending on various parameters, representation understanding of every era and every society has formed its own esthetics according to it. Purpose of this research is not to discuss representative art and/or representative painting which are used very often in literature. Because, representation is not the thing that it represents, but its means. Even the situations when art is the representation of itself or rperesentation of representation do not change the reality of generally art and particularly painting are fully the areas of representation. By starting with this argument, in this research representation characteristics of postmodern art which defines this era is discussed and tried to be evaluated on the basis of representation versus art relation, through the theoretical, philosophical and historical process.
