Violence against women in the family is a common and important social problem that women around the world are experiencing with the change in size and species. Family violence against women not only affects women physically and psychically but also prevents the development of their legal, social, political and economic status. This study tried to identify the factors affecting domestic violence against women and assessed the impact of women’s participation in labour on domestic violence. The data were obtained from the survey "Inquiry of domestic violence against women in Turkey" conducted by the Turkish Statistical Bureau in 2008 and 2014. The analysis was carried out with two logit models. According to the results of the analysis, the age of a woman increases the violence against a woman. As the level of education of the woman and her wife increases, the violence in the family decreases. Women’s work is not a factor that prevents the participation in the workforce from experiencing violence. Working women are more likely to experience physical or sexual violence than women who do not work. In cases of alcohol use, gambling and drug use, domestic violence has increased. The area where domestic violence occurred over the region of Marmara was identified as the Eastern Anadolu Region in 2008 and the Inner Anadolu Region in 2014.
