The aim of this research is to reveal the impact of the collaborative learning method in primary school’s fourth class math course on academic success and attitude towards mathematics, and to identify their thoughts on the collaborative method. In the study, a single group of pre-test-sontest patterns were used. In the study, the achievements included in the unit of the 4th class mathematics program "Environmental lengths calculation" in the experimental group of 23 lessons applied the technique "Team Games Tournament Supported Student Teams and Success Divisions" which includes the combination of the "Team Team Success Divisions" and "Team Game Tournament" techniques of collaborative learning approach. The research work group, 2015-2016 academic year II. During the period, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Malatya Battalgazi district was composed of 20 students, including 10 girls and 10 boys, who studied in the 4th grade. The mathematical attitude scale developed by Baykul (1990) as a data collection tool, the mathematical success test developed by the researcher and the collaboration-based learning method assessment survey was implemented. In the analysis of data, the difference between the students’ pre-test and estest points was calculated and progress score series were created, and this difference score average, which was later a indicator of the progress in the academic success and attitude of the study group in the process, was compared to t-test for non-related samples as they show normal distribution. Students’ opinions on the collaborative learning method were analyzed and evaluated, and their frequency and percentage values were used. The combination of techniques in the collaborative-based learning method in the research resulted in no significant gender differentiation on the academic achievements and attitudes of girls and boys students studying in the experimental group in the math course. Students have expressed a general positive view on the collaborative learning method.
