Abstract:

This study aims to identify the factors affecting the teaching and learning problems in accounting courses and suggestions for solutions to them. A qualified research has been conducted on the faculty members who provide accounting lessons at the Republic of Sivas University to these goals. In the study, a set of questions consisted of 16 questions were addressed to 11 teachers. The research finds that the most important learning problems are the disinterest of students in the classroom, the formation of each other-related subjects, the fact that the course has not been seen before the degree, the reference to the fields that are not related to the department, the negative tenders of the upper classes about the course, and the preliminary judgment that the course will fail. The most important teaching problems are the fact that students do not regularly work on their classes, the fact that teachers do not actively use teaching technologies, the fact that students in general have no knowledge of career planning and therefore have no goals related to the department. Learning/learning problems solutions recommendations include increasing the interest levels of students in the class, emphasizing the need for this profession to students, providing the students’ goals related to the department by describing the career stages of this profession, giving more space to examples and questions in the classes, using technological tools in the class stories, and being theoretical knowledge in addition to the practice.
