Abstract:

The foundation of the great transformations that influenced the history of mankind can be said that oral culture, written culture, and ultimately visual culture, respectively, included. With the invention of the writing, written culture replaced the verbal culture, while with the development of technology, written culture replaced the visual culture. Of course, every change and transformation has brought a number of problems alongside its benefits. With every new technological tool that emerges in the process that begins with television and then continues with the internet, the processes of communication and interaction of individuals and communities that feel the influence of visual culture ever deeper and deeper have also begun to re-form. With the rapid entry of information technology into the social life in our country, people’s way of life has begun to change, and yet a number of social values have been negatively affected. Of course, there are broadcasting policies that try to cover the wounds as the media has a significant impact on this negative move. But the magazine programs that put the popular culture in the forefront are influenced by a larger audience. In this sense, a series of assessments have been made on the importance of being a conscious media reader in order to avoid the negative effects of the media tools we are more affected by visuality. These assessments are made in the framework of the vaccinatory approach, the protective approach, the enhancing approach and the critical approach, which are considered the basic approaches in media reading. Question: What is the media literature? What do you need to do to be a media reader? What are the roles of the individual, family, educational institutions in the media literature? In Turkey, the Ministry of National Education, what place is given in the curriculum on the subject of media literature? What is the approach of the Supreme Council of Radio and Television to the media literature? is in shape. The study was conducted according to the quality analysis method.
