Abstract:

The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of gender, class level and scientific follow-up variables on the attitudes of high school students towards the course of Science and Technology and their attitudes towards the scientific experiments. Research 2013-2014 Education-Teaching year was conducted in the spring period with a total of 177 students who are studying in a private high school connected to the Ministry of National Education in Muğla Province. In this research conducted in the scan method, the attitude scale to the scientific experiments of the 13 material science and technology lessons in the five-liquette type adapted to Turkey by Barmby, Kind, Jones and Bush (2005) and 8 material science experiments was used. The data was analyzed with the SPSS 20.0 package program. At the end of the study there was no significant gender-related difference between the students' attitudes towards the Science and Technology lessons and the science experiments, in terms of class level 5. It turned out that there was a significant difference in the benefit of the students. Science and Technology lessons and attitudes towards scientific experiments have been found to make a significant difference in the benefit of students who follow scientific publications depending on their follow-up of scientific publications.
