Abstract:

In this study, the coding of meaningful information in the language directory is discussed and the result of the analysis of the Turkish-Russian pair is focused on the coding models in the actual form of meaningful information about action. The study states that a limit between action and actual categories should be drawn, that the action category is logical, and the actual category is related to the language. The name of actions in different languages can be made according to different logic, the real, meaningful ‘image’ that depicts the same action in two languages, and the structural dimension that depicts the forms can be different. As a result of the comparative analysis of the Turkish-Russian language pair, questions are raised, such as what kind of logical categories can be found behind the forms, how these meaningful information can be coded, what cognitive models can be created. The results obtained are shown to be applicable in the course of foreign language/translation training.
