Çocuklar kendilerine öğretilmediği sürece arkadaşlarıyla yaşadıkları sorunları yapıcı yollarla nasıl çözebileceklerini bilmemekte, şiddete başvurarak ya da edilgen davranarak çatışmadan kaçınmaya çalışmaktadırlar. Bu nedenle çocuklar arasındaki iletişimde şiddet oldukça yaygındır. Söz konusu soruna çözüm üretmek amacıyla dünyanın birçok ülkesinde öğrenciler, okullarda çatışma çözümü eğitimi almaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, “Anlaşmazlıklarımızı Çözebiliriz” çatışma çözümü eğitim programının etkililiğini, Yunanistan Batı Trakya azınlığı ilköğretim örneklemi üzerinde sınamaktır. Söz konusu eğitim programı aracılığıyla öğrencilere arkadaşları ile yaşayabilecekleri anlaşmazlıkları yapıcı yollar ile çözme becerilerinin kazandırılması, duygu düzenleme ile sosyal davranış becerilerinin artırılması ve davranış sorunlarının azaltılması hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmada ön-test, son-test kontrol gruplu araştırma deseni kullanılmış olup, uygulama grubu 103 ve kontrol grubu 74 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Ölçümler Çatışma Senaryoları, Duygu Ayarlama Ölçeği, Güçler ve Güçlükler Anketi kullanarak yapılmıştır. Toplam 21 oturumdan oluşan eğitim kapsamında öğrencilerin ilgisini çekmeyi hedefleyen karikatür, poster ve çizgi film gibi materyaller kullanılmış sınıf tartışmaları, rol alma, kalem kağıt aktiviteleri gibi öğrencilerin aktif katılımını sağlamayı amaçlayan tekniklerden faydalanılarak uygulama grubundaki öğrencilere duyguları tanıma, öfke kontrolü, empati ve yapıcı çatışma çözümü eğitimi verilmiştir. Kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere ise böyle bir eğitim verilmemiştir. Bu çalışmada, Anlaşmazlıklarımızı Çözebiliriz çatışma çözümü programı benzer kültürel özelliklerin olduğu farklı bir coğrafyada test edilmiş ve etkililiği kanıtlanmıştır. Bulgular, Anlaşmazlıklarımızı Çözebiliriz çatışma çözümü eğitim programının öğrencilerin yapıcı çatışma çözme becerileri, duygu düzenleme becerileri ve sosyal davranış becerilerini artırdığını davranış sorunu düzeylerini ise azalttığını göstermiştir. Kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin ise çatışma çözme ve sosyal davranış beceri puanlarında ön-testten son-teste değişimin olmadığı, ancak duygu düzenleme ve davranış sorunları puanlarının ise olumsuz anlamda değiştiği görülmüştür. Bulgular bir bütün olarak değerlendirildiğinde, Anlaşmazlıklarımızı Çözebiliriz çatışma çözümü eğitiminin ilköğretim öğrencilerinin yaşadıkları anlaşmazlıkların çözümünde etkili olabileceği kanıtlanmıştır.
Children, unless they are taught to know how to solve their problems with their friends in constructive ways, try to avoid conflict by applying to violence or by behavior. Therefore, violence in communication between children is quite common. In order to create a solution to this problem, students in many countries of the world receive conflict-solving education in schools. The main objective of this study is to test the effectiveness of the conflict-solving training program "We can solve our disputes" on the primary education sample of Greece's Western Trakya minority. Through this training program, students are aimed at providing skills to solve disputes they may experience with their friends by constructive ways, enhancing their emotional and social behavioral skills and reducing behavioral problems. The study used a pre-test, final-test control group research scheme, which consisted of the application group 103 and the control group 74 students. Measures were made using Conflict Scenarios, Emotional Adjustment Scale, Power and Weakness Survey. A total of 21 sessions of training included materials such as cartoons, posters and cartoons aimed at attracting students; techniques aimed at ensuring the active participation of students, such as class discussions, role-playing, pen paper activities, were taught students in the application group to recognize emotions, control anger, empathy and constructive conflict resolution. Students in the control group have not been given such training. In this study, the conflict resolution program is tested in a different geography with similar cultural characteristics and has proven its effectiveness. The findings have shown that the conflict resolution training program enhances the student’s constructive conflict resolution skills, emotional regulation skills and social behavioral skills; and reduces the levels of behavioral problems. Students in the control group have not changed from pre-test to final-test in conflict resolution and social behavior skills, but the points of emotional regulation and behavior problems have changed negatively. When the findings are assessed as a whole, it has been proven that conflict-solving education can be effective in solving the disputes that primary school students experience.

Therefore, violence in communication between children is quite common. Conflict resolution programs are widely used in schools around the world to prevent violence. This study examines the effectiveness of the “We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” conflict resolution training program in a sample of Western Thrace Minority elementary school students. It aims to enhance student conflict resolution skills by teaching constructive ways, to increase emotional regulation, social behavior skills, and reduce conduct problems. We used a pre-test post-test control group design. Our training group consisted of 103 students and our control group consisted of 74 students. Conflict resolution skills were assessed by conflict scenarios. Emotion regulation skills were measured using Emotion Regulation Checklist. Pro-social behavior skills and conduct problems assessed using Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” program is a school-based prevention program consisting of 21 sessions with materials like caricatures, posters, and cartoons. We trained students to recognize emotions, empathy, control anger, and resolve conflicts constructively. Different techniques were employed, such as classroom discussions, role-playing, and pencil-and-paper activities to ensure active student participation. Control group students did not receive this training. We tested the “We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” program in a different location with similar cultural characteristics, and its effectiveness was approved. Findings showed that the training program raised students’ constructive conflict resolution skills, emotion regulation skills, and pro-social behavior skills. It reduced the level of conduct problems. The control group exhibited no changes in their conflict resolution and pro-social behavior skill scores from the pre to post-test. However, their emotion regulation and conduct problems scores changed negatively. In general, the findings of this study revealed that conflict resolution education is effective in resolving conflicts in elementary school students.
