The current study aims at examining the relationship between supportive work environment (SWE) and employee retention with mediating role of person-organization fit. Data were collected via questionnaire and the number of respondents were 231 from the banking and telecom sector based in twin cities (Rawalpindi and Islamabad). Hypotheses were tested with the help of multiple regressions. The result of the current study shows that employee retention is positively influenced by a supportive work environment. Besides, Person-organization fit partially mediates between SWE and Employee retention. This data is restricted to Pakistan’s setting and cannot be generalized across the world. Moreover, the Social exchange theory is supporting the current study.
