The concept of fetishism primarily refers to the voluntary attitude and undersatndig that manifests itself in the human religious and magical practices and objectifications against the power of nature. Fetishes are understood as universal realities, connected with natural and artificial things/objects that people worship in the framework of their relations with the outside world. Marx analyzes the capitalist economic functioning and the modern social and political structure formed by it through the conceptualization of fetishism. This study first focuses on the historical and philosophical basis and meaning of the concept of fetishism. Later, Marx's analysis of the modern capitalist economy and its social functioning as a form of fetishization will be discussed. İn this context, on the basis of the Marxist concept of fetishism, it is claimed that the reproduction of the social and political on a theoretical and discursive basis is actually turning into a kind of fetishism.
