Abstract:

Target: Heart mixoma is the most common beneficial heart tumors. In this study, the early and middle-term results of intrakardial mixoma patients performed by excision surgery were evaluated. Methods: 31 patients with an average age of 56 (age range of 33-78) who were operated between 1988 and 2012 with the cause of Miksoma were assessed. 18 of the patients were female and 13 men. Twelve patients (38.7%) had congestive heart failure and 19 patients (61.3%) had mitral obstruction symptoms. Pre-operative diagnosis was placed with transtoral 2-dimensional ecocardiography. In 19 patients, the right atrial mixoma was present, and in 12 patients, the left atrial mixoma was present. A large excision was applied under the cardiopulmonary bypass in the surgical treatment. A patient with cerebral embolism died in the early postoperative period. The average tracking time was 9.8±1.4 years. Thirty patients were regularly monitored as NYHA class I and no nurses were observed in patients. Result: All patients with Miksoma have an immediate indication of surgical treatment. The early and mid-term results of the surgical exhaustion of the atrial mixoma are perfect. (JAREM 2013; 3: 84-7)
