Abstract:

The aim of this study is determinating the knowledge level of associate degree Physiotherapy Program students about physiotherapy practices. 101 students aged between 18-25 who were newly enrolled in the physiotherapy department of Pamukkale University Sarayköy Vocational School and Denizli Health Services Vocational School Therapy and Rehabilitation Department participated in the study. The participants’ demographic data (age, gender, educational status) and their knowledge levels about physiotherapy practices were recorded on a form created by the researchers. According to the results, 71.3% of the students know who performs physiotherapy applications. However, it was observed that the majority of the students had insufficient knowledge about the purposes of physiotherapy, the contents of physiotherapy units and the places where physiotherapy services can be received. It was determined that 51.49% of the students preferred the internet as a source of information. The study has shown that Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation Associate Degree Physiotherapy Program students do not have sufficient knowledge about their professional practice areas, scope and effects, contents of physiotherapy and places where physiotherapy services can be received. For this reason, it has been observed that students mostly access information from the internet; the importance of career promotions over the internet was emphasized
