Bu çalışmada Mersin ili Toroslar ilçesinde bulunan Toroslar Anadolu Lisesi 11 ve 12. sınıf öğrencilerinin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının farklı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi ve “müzik dersi” kavramına yönelik düşüncelerinin metaforlar aracılığı ile belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada, karma yöntem desenlerinden yakınsak paralel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri “Metafor”, Varış & Cesur (2012) tarafından geliştirilen “Ortaöğretim Düzeyi Müzik Dersine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği” ve “Kişisel bilgi formu” ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel veri sonuçları incelendiğinde 11 ve 12. sınıf öğrencilerinin müzik dersi kavramına yönelik 103 adet olumlu, 31 adet olumsuz olmak üzere toplam 134 adet metafor ürettikleri tespit edilmiştir. Kız öğrencilerin 50 adet olumlu, 9 adet olumsuz, erkek öğrencilerin ise 53 adet olumlu 22 adet olumsuz metafor ürettikleri saptanmıştır. Kız öğrencilerin müzik dersi kavramına yönelik olumlu metafor oranlarının 0,85 olduğu, erkek öğrencilerin ise 0,71 olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuç, 11 ve 12. sınıf kız öğrencilerinin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının erkek öğrencilere oranla daha yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. 11 ve 12. sınıf kız ve erkek öğrencilerinin 0,77 olumlu metafor oranıyla müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının orta düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel veri sonuçları incelendiğinde öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutum ortalamalarının 56,36 olduğu ve öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının orta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öte yandan öğrencilerin cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne ve baba eğitim durumu değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This study is aimed to investigate the attitudes of 11th and 12th-grade students in Mersin Toroslar Anatolian High School towards music lessons according to different variables and to find out their perceptions regarding the concept of 'Music Lesson' through metaphors. In the research, the convergent parallel design, one of the mixed method designs, was used. The data of the research were collected with “metaphor”, the "Attitude Towards Secondary Education Music Course Scale" developed by Varış and Cesur (2012) and “Personal Information Form”. When the qualitative data results of the research are examined; it has been determined that the 11th and 12th-grade students produced a total of 134 metaphors, including 103 positive and 31 negative ones for the attitudes towards music lessons. It was found that female students produced 50 positives, and 9 negatives and male students produced 53 positives and 22 negative metaphors. It was concluded that the average of positive metaphors for the concept of music lessons of female students was 0.85, while male students' average of positive metaphors was 0.71. This result has shown that the attitudes of 11th and 12th-grade female students towards music lessons are higher than those of male students. It was concluded that the attitudes of 11th and 12th-grade male and female students towards the music lesson were at an average level with a positive metaphor average of 0.77. When the quantitative data results of the research were examined, it was found that the average attitude of the students towards the music lesson was 56.36 and the attitude of the students towards the music lesson was at an average level. On the other hand, it was concluded that there was no statistically significant difference according to the variables of students’ gender, grade level, and educational status of parents.
