Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the general self-efficacy levels and test anxiety of the students of the  Sports Sciences. Faculty. A total of 281 students, 181 males and 100 females, studying at the Sport Sciences Faculty affiliated to the Higher Education Institution in the 2022-2023 academic year, participated in the research in which the descriptive scanning model was used. In obtaining the data in the research; The Diagnostic Information Form and the “General Self-Efficacy Scale” adapted to Turkish culture by Aypay (2010) and the “Test Anxiety Inventory” developed by Bahçeci (2009) were used. Parametric tests were applied due to the normal distribution of skewness and kurtosis values of the data. As a result of the research, the most preferred exam type was the applied exam type. While there is a significant difference in the level of self-efficacy in favor of students who choose the applied exam type; no significant difference was found on other variables in terms of test anxiety. There was a negative and weak significant relationship between students' self-efficacy and test anxiety. In other words, as the level of self-efficacy increases, test anxiety decreases, and as the level of self-efficacy decreases, test anxiety increases. As a result, it has been determined that the practical exam type of physical education students is an important variable for their self-efficacy, and there is a decrease in test anxiety as the self-efficacy level increases.
