İnsanların zamanla değişen ve çeşitlenen ihtiyaçlarına göre bir mekân kurgusu oluşmuştur. Bu mekân, barınma ihtiyacı ile farklı bir boyut kazanmıştır. İnsanın doğayla iletişim kurma arzusu doğrultusunda mekân organizasyonu gelişmiştir. Yapılar doğayla irtibat kuracak şekilde tasarlanmış, kapalı ve açık mekânlar arasında bir ilişki kurulmuştur. Bu bağlamda etrafı korunaklı duvarlarla çevrili, üstü açık mekân olarak tanımlanan avlu kavramı giderek önem arz etmiştir. Geleneksel Türk evi plan şeması bir avlu etrafında şekillenmiştir. Avlunun evin içindeki konumu plan organizasyonuna göre farklılık gösterse de genellikle ortak bir amaç için kullanılmıştır. Avlu, bölgenin kültür, iklim ve topografya özelliklerine göre farklı konum ve formda gelişmiştir. Bu çalışmada geleneksel Türk evinin tanımı, tarihçesi ve Türk evi plan tipleri incelenmiştir. Geleneksel Türk evinde avlu kullanımı ve tarihçesi, avlu formunu etkileyen faktörler, Afyonkarahisar bölgesi özelinde; evlerin yapım sistemi, bölgede yaygın olarak kullanılan plan tipi, avlu kullanımı, arazi eğimiyle avluda oluşan kot farkı, bölgedeki iklimin avlu konumu üzerindeki etkisi, avluda bulunan elemanlar, mahremiyet ve güvenlik etkisiyle avlunun genellikle evin arka cephesinde konumlanması, avlunun mekân ile ilişkisi geleneksel evler üzerinden anlatılmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda geleneksel Türk evinin oluşmasında avlunun önemi vurgulanmış ve bu kültürün gelecek nesillere aktarılması amaçlanmıştır.
The changing and diversifying needs of people have formed a space fiction, which gained a new dimension with the need for shelter. Space organization developed in line with the human desire to communicate with nature, resulting in buildings that establish contact with nature and a relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. The courtyard, defined as an open space surrounded by sheltered walls, has become increasingly important. Traditional Turkish house plans are centered around a courtyard, which varies in location and purpose. The courtyard has developed in different locations and forms according to the culture, climate, and topography of the region. This study examines the definition, history, and plan types of traditional Turkish houses. It explains the use and history of courtyards, the factors affecting their form, and the construction systems and plan types commonly used in the region. The elevation difference due to the slope of the land, the effect of the climate, the elements in the courtyard, and the location of the courtyard on the back facade of the house are also discussed. This study emphasizes the importance of the courtyard in the formation of the traditional Turkish house and aims to transfer this culture to future generations.
