Bilgi temelli teknolojilerin kullanımı işletmelerin içinde bulundukları küresel ve dinamik rekabet yapısına sahip piyasalarda bir zorunluluk haline gelmiştir. Tedarikten başlayarak nihai ürünün teslimine kadar geçen her bir aşamanın etkin bir biçimde yönetilmesinde bu teknolojiler önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Son yıllarda kullanımı gittikçe artan bu teknolojilerden bir tanesi de işletmeler için önemli bir rekabetçi araç olarak adlandırılan Kurumsal Kaynak Planlaması-ERP/ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) yazılımlarıdır. ERP yazılımları işletmenin bütün fonksiyonlarını kapsayacak biçimde entegre edilen ve işletmenin rekabetçi yeteneklerinin geliştirmeyi amaçlayan bilgisayar ve iletişim teknolojileri destekli bir iş yönetim sistemidir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada ERP ile ilgili temel literatür bilgilerine yer verilmiş ve ERP yazılımı kullanan bir işletmenin bu yazılımı kullanım öncesindeki durumu ile uygulama sonrasındaki durumu incelenerek kullanılan yazılımın işletme performansı üzerindeki etkileri irdelenmiştir. Yapılan inceleme ve değerlendirmeler sonucunda kullanılan ERP yazılımının işletmenin performans kriterleri üzerinde önemli etkilerinin olduğu görülmüştür.
