The aim of this study is to determine and examine the leisure exercise levels, leisure barriers and motivations of individuals who are interested in kitesurfing, an extreme sport, according to some demographic variables. The sample of the study consists of 213 volunteer individuals living in various regions of Turkey who prefer to do kitesurfing on the shores of our country or are interested in this sport, selected with an easily accessible sampling model. In the research, a personal information form created by the researcher to collect demographic information such as age, gender, socio-economic level, as well as the Leisure Time Exercise Questionnaire, Leisure Motivation Scale and Leisure Time Constrains Scale were used as data collection tools. 47.4% of the participants are women, 52.6% are men, most of them are under the age of 30, their socio-economic status and participation in leisure activities are at a good level. Considering the sub-dimensions of the leisure motivation scale, the highest value was obtained in the dimension of knowing-achievement. The lowest value was obtained in the dimension of amotivation. Looking at the sub-dimensions of the leisure time constrains scale, the highest average value was obtained in the sub-dimension of the facility. The lowest value was obtained in the sub-dimension of individual psychology. In addition, significant differences were found between some demographic characteristics of the participants and their leisure motivations and constrains.
